Our client is a global leader in the Software Development industry. They have recently taken on a new project in Switzerland and are now in need of a Senior Software Tester.

What you'll do:
  • Designing and implementing software of embedded devices and systems
  • Designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging system software
  • Analysing and enhancing efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources
  • Review code and design
  • Analyse and enhance the efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources
  • Integrate and validate new product designs
  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
  • Provide post-production support
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Assess third-party and open-source software
What you need:
  • Experience as an Embedded Software Tester
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or international equivalent
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
  • Solid programming experience in C or compiled languages (Python, JavaScript, Ruby, C++, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Unix and Unix shell scripting
  • Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating
systems
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools and peer review
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
The client is located in Lucerne, Switzerland, and will require the candidate to be on-site 3 days per week for the first few months. After a successful trial period, the position can transition to a fully remote role. This is a 12-month project with the potential for long-term extensions.
